Inspiration From the Kitchen

We all get our inspiration from different places. Some from Pintrest, others from Instagram. Some of us go outside and get our inspiration from nature, others go into the city.

I don't get my inspiration form any of these things. Instead I get my inspiration from the kitchen. I know, that sounds really weird, but its true. If I have to write something for school, I'll go the kitchen and clean it. Within the first five or ten minutes, I will have something to write about. The other day, I was cleaning the kitchen, but not for inspiration, and I got the idea for this poem. I haven't edited since I wrote it, so there are probably some grammar errors, but try to ignore them. :)

A Letter From God

I want to shape you and mold you
But your hands are blocking my way
I want to take you further
But you hold up a stop sign
I want to use you
But I do not have all of you
I want to give you everything
But you are giving me nothing
I want to life you up
But you push me away
I want to comfort you
But you put up walls
I want to do so much
But you are giving me so little
I want to fix the broken pieces
But you are holding them close
I want to heal you
But you cringe at my touch
I want to do so much
But you give me so little

Can I have all of you? Every broken piece and shattered dream? Will you take down the walls? Will you give me all of your heart?
                                                                                                                   God

A Proverbs 31 Woman

When I saw this on Google+, I thought to myself, Yes, this is exactly what I want to be.

Proverbs 31 talks about a godly woman and how she should act like. Here are just few verses that really stand out to me.

A godly woman is very hard find. Her price is far above rubies. She is very valuable and beautiful.

\

This is probably my favorite verse in the Bible. No matter what you look like on the outside, if you don't love God and serve Him, it is useless. A godly woman is to be praised. Isn't that awesome? God things so highly of godly women that He says they should be praised.

This verse really sticks out to me because it mentions being a light. Her lamp does no go out at night. To me this means that no matter how hard things get, she shines for Jesus. Everywhere she goes, her light is always shining, her candle always burning.

I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman, don't you? Her price is far above rubies and she is highly praised. That's a huge compliment in my eyes.

Wherever you are, whoever you are, just remember, if you are a Proverbs 31 woman, it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside. If you love God and are serving Him with everything in you, you are beautiful. Don't worry about what the world says because in the end, it won't matter what they thought. It will only matter what Jesus thought.

If you notice, Proverbs 31 says nothing about how a godly woman should look. It does say her clothing is silk and purple because she works hard, not because it is saying a godly woman should wear silk. This chapter doesn't say anything about what a godly woman looks like on the outside because it doesn't matter.
It doesn't say a Proverbs 31 woman can only have blue eyes, or maybe only green eyes. Oh, and she has to have brown hair. God doesn't care how someone looks on the outside.

I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman. One that is pleasing to God and one to whom He says, "Well done!"
How about you? Do you want to be a Proverbs 31 woman or a Victoria's Secret model?

Home School Tips and Ideas

I now have all my school supplies in and my school area set up for the year, so I decided to share it with you. Now, I have been doing  K12, an online home school for almost 2 years. I am going to my Sophomore year, so this set up may not work for everyone, but I have found it works very well for me.

Here is my desk and general set up.

The bulletin comes in handy when it comes to notes, due dates and schedules. Its nice to have a printer near by so I can print out notes and such.

My daily schedule.
This is my daily schedule. I don't always follow this, but it kind of gives me an outline of my day and makes me feel more organized. If you are new to homeschooling, one thing I would say is always, always have a schedule set for the day. Even if you don't always follow it, try to have at least a to-do list, that way you aren't going into the day aimlessly.

My Calendar
A daily calendar or planner helps me keep up with all my due dates and projects. I use lots of abbreviations and then use an orange highlighter when I complete that assignment and then a different color one if it is late or excused.
That's pretty much it. I have a notebook for each subject for notes and then have folder on my computer for each subject. The key to home schooling in organization and dedication. I have been home schooled for 8 years, so this has pretty much been my life. I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial of my school area and schedule.
