Praise His Name by Jeff and Sheri Easter

This is my all time favorite songs. When I first heard this song, I was 8 years old. It was right after I was adopted and my mom was driving me home from a session with the counselor. At the time, I was an angry, bitter little girl, mad at the whole world. This song came on the radio and I just started crying. Back then, I didn't cry, I never showed any emotion whatsoever unless it was anger. I just sat there and cried for a long time. This song just spoke to me, it gave me a little hope, a little reason to keep living. This song cracked my hard shell, beginning the long healing process. I hope this song speaks to you as much as it spoke and is still speaking to me.

I'm Back and God is Good!!

It seems like it has been forever since I have last talked to you guys.

It is soooo good to be back!!

A lot has been going on lately in my family. My Grandpa died last week and the week before that, my cousin died. As you can see, it has been crazy here.

The last two weeks have been insane and out of control, but I know God has a plan in all of this. No matter what we face, God is right there with us. I've learned that these past few weeks. All of this kind of cam out of nowhere, but I know it is all part of God's will, I just have to trust Him.

God has everything in control.

GOD IS GOOD!!!

I will be leaving for North American Youth Congress in a week... I am SOOO excited!!! NAYC is in Louisville, Kentucky this year so it is a long drive from Oklahoma, but totally worth it! :)

So that is what has been going on in my life lately. My grandpa is where he wants to be, now.. Heaven. He is happy and peaceful. Yes, everyone will miss him, but he is home now and that's all that matters:)

:) :) God is doing something amazing here!!

Taking a Break

My family is going through a lot right now so I will not be able to post for most of this week. I will do my best, but I can't promise the regular posts. Please pray for my family and for a miracle because right now we really need one. God is faithful and I know He will come through for us.

My Holiness Standards

About a month ago, I started talking about my holiness standards and why I dress the way I do. In A Peculiar People, I talked about being separate from the world not only through our actions but also through the way we dress and present ourselves. Before you continue, click the link above and read that first, it will help you understand the main reason for my holiness standards.

So, now that you have read A Peculiar People, you are probably wondering, "Why the skirt and the long hair?" "Can't you be different without looking like that?" I believe the answer to that is no. I'm NOT saying that if you don't wear a skirt or have long, uncut hair you can't be a peculiar person or you are not living for God. I am simply stating what I believe and why I believe it.

"A woman must not wear men's  clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this." Deuteronomy 22:5 (NIV) This is one reason for the skirt. The Bible directly tells us not to wear a man's clothing. You don't see men going around wearing skirts....

In 1 Timothy 2:9, it says: "In like manner also that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety, not with broided hair or gold or pearls or costly array." This is saying we need to dress modestly, and not to wear jewelry or makeup or anything like that.

Ok, now for the hair. 1 Corinthians 11:14-15 says: "Doth not even nature itself teach you that if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a women have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her is given her for a covering." A woman that has long hair is full of glory and power. "For if the women not be covered, let her also be shorn, but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered." 1 Corinthians 11:6 This is saying that it is a shame for a women's covering--her hair (see 1 Corinthians 11:15 above)-- to be shorn or shaven. In other words, a woman shouldn't cut her hair.

So I know this sounds like a lot of rules and regulations to follow, but I enjoy doing this. When you love God with all your heart and soul and mind, then you want to do everything it takes to please Him. I am NOT forced to dress like I do, I do it because I want to do everything I can to please Jesus.

Like I said before, I am NOT saying you are going to hell and all that if you wear pants or cut your hair. Please do not misunderstand me, I do NOT believe that. I do not think that only us Pentecostals are going to heaven. These are my personal convictions and how I believe I should live.

People who are not Pentecostal can be used of God and please Him just us much and, sometimes more, than those who are.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Also, I just wanted to let you know that the book I am currently working on, Somewhere Between Two Houses, is now posted under My Stories on the side bar. Check it out and tell me what you think.

(This post and A Peculiar People can also be found under my beliefs for quick reference.)

Go Light Your World by Chris Rice

I found this song on YouTube yesterday and absolutely had to share it with you. Its about lighting your world in times of darkness and letting the whole world see it. If I could describe my life's goal one way, it would be like this. Here's Go Light Your World by Chris Rice:

Happy Independence Day!!!

http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/23400000/Independence-Day-united-states-of-america-23406761-1920-1200.jpg Happy Independence Day everyone!! I actually forgot that today was the 4th of July, to be honest. I only realized what day it was because I got up and my dad wasn't at work. This only happens when it is a holiday. So yeah... I can't believe I did, but when you have a lot going on, it happens.

Are you happy you are free today? Are you glad that you can believe whatever you want to believe and no one has any say in it? I am VERY glad for that privilege. Not very many countries have the freedom that we do. If there is one thing I want to leave with you today, its this: Freedom is not the right to do what you want, but the right to do what you ought.

Have a wonderful Independence Day and take a moment to thank the Lord for the freedom you get to enjoy today.
